BALLET IMAGINAIRE for CLARINET, ALTO SAXOPHONE (or two clarinets) and PIANO (1995)
Commissioned by clarinettist Fiona Cross to perform with Gerard McChrystal (sax) and Kathryn Page (piano) but eventually the first performance was given by Fiona with saxophonist Christian Forshaw and accompanied by the composer.
Funds for the commission were given by The Arts Council of England and the first performance was hosted by The Leasowes Bank Festival in Shropshire in June 1995.
The music takes the listener to the theatre, to the ballet, where the dancers enact the listener's imagined story....
